Some of the features that you will appreciate in this miniature power Cadillac include the two seats, well functioning doors that will open and close, a battery charge indicator as well as a chrome grill and chrome wheels. These power wheels have that signature Cadillac Escalade styling that is instantly recognizable. The Barbie design of the cars adds to their unique look and elegance.
I wish I had one when I was a kid! So far, the battery usually lasts at least a 1/2 hour or about two miles. There's two speeds for forward and one for reverse. The slow speed goes a little slower than normal walking speed and the fast speed goes about as fast as a slow jogging speed. I like that there's a screw to lock out the faster speed for younger kids (late 2 early 3?). I think this Jeep is good for kids between late 2 - 5 our 6ish? My son just turned 4 and I think he's perfect size for it (of course I do). See the attached video. We've already been riding it for about a half hour at that point. It was on the fast speed and going about normal walking speed. The battery does slowly drain so it does give you a heads-up that its starting to run low on battery. I don't know exactly how long it takes to fully charge it but it's at least a few hours. You do need to assemble the Jeep but if you're good with directions, it's pretty straight forward. It took at least an hour to set up.
Creativity– one last aspect that must not be underestimated is the imaginative power of play time. Your kids will be making up their own stories about going on adventures to foreign lands, and helping your kids along with some props or atmosphere will be a great idea toencourage them. You can start them off on a treasure hunt that you have designed for their birthday or Christmas, and let them collect clues and trivia along the way. Joining in on this play is another idea to let your toddler act out social roles and get them ready for driving and taking on the real world.
Safety first – as a parent you can take over the steering and acceleration of the car if your child loses control. This is a fail-safe that all moms and dads will come to love! The MP3 socket is a great feature to let your child drive around the neighborhood sidewalks while singing along to their favorite tunes. The large wheels on the Range Rover ride-on are also great in case of driving over obstacles or stones, because it will easily be able to overcome a bit of a rough terrain.
We used a "cover story" to explain the unusual appearance of the wheels, which appeared not to have spokes at all. We concocted a fiction about "disc" wheels and some imaginary advantage in reduction of wind resistance. Everybody fell for it! Actually, the covers degraded performance, particularly in cross winds, but they were necessary for security reasons at the time.
With a 12 volt battery and a charger to keep it primed, this super sports car is one fantastic vehicle for toddlers. It is made of durable plastic materials that can take the rough treatment from kids and keep on going. The operating features of the car are a horn, headlights, a seat belt, MP3 connection, FM radio, and steering controls. Kids can go forward or reverse, unlike some of the other models of cars that only move forwards for safety reasons. A wonderful safety mechanism that it does have besides the seat belt is that if kids are too young to handle the driving themselves, adults can control the car by remote. This way the child can still enjoy the ride, but without the worry of them getting hurt or destroying property. The vehicle travels up to two miles per hour so kids can enjoy some speed, but not get into any trouble or spills. This is one great race car for boys or girls that are ready to ride!
* SPEED / GEARS ... There are actually 4 gears, controlled by a shifter in the middle: Low (2.5 mph), High (5 mph), Reverse and allegedly there's a Park (which i can't find, no matter how much I fiddle with the gear shifter). So realistically there's only 3 gears, though it ~really~ needs a brake or a park (while kids are loading/unloading, etc). It comes with a screw in the shifter to lock out high gear - remove the screw when your kids are ready for more speed.
Completely redesigned with the latest Jeep styling, the Power Wheels Jeep Wrangler is the perfect vehicle for pretend “off-road” racing adventure! With the realistic Jeep grille, roll-bars, and front & back fenders, kids will feel like they’re driving the real thing! Plus, a larger cockpit area and increased wheel base gives kids more legroom and improved stability. Drives two speeds forward (2.5 & 5 mph max.), plus reverse, on hard surfaces and grass, with a high speed lock-out option for beginners and Power-Lock brakes.
