* ASSEMBLY ... You have to assemble *everything* - absolutely nothing comes pre-assembled. For example, see the rear roll-bar in the photo? That alone is 16 pieces to be screwed together, not including the decals. Allow 90 minutes, but my repair took another 90 minutes, making assembly time a little over 3 hours total for me (from box to complete unit).
Road Rules – even though your kids won’t be driving their toys with full-size cars on the road, they can still be taught how to drive toys properly and obey the law when they’re driving their toys. You can ensure they keep to one side of the road when they drive along. You can also take them to an open space and tell them that when they’re in the appropriate setting they can let loose and roll wherever they want to. If the kids crash into things or other people by mistake – or even on purpose, because we know those types of children are out there – you should explain to them how they have hurt someone or broken property that doesn’t belong to them. That being said, we obviously don’t mean that you should be authoritarian about it, but you can ensure they are aware of their actions even while making an amusing comment.

This 12 volt ride on cars main benefit is a rechargeable battery that powers the Jeep Wrangler’s drivetrain to a maximum of 5 miles per hour. Now, if it is a younger princess behind the wheel, Mom and Dad can simply lock-out the high speed setting so it cruises at a safer speed of 2.5 miles per hour. It’s got wide ATV like tires spread across a wide wheelbase with an excellent ground clearance. The tread of the tires gives it superb traction and gripping prowess so kids won’t be skidding off slippery surfaces. Just don’t let them drive over ice and they should be fine.

I wish I had one when I was a kid! So far, the battery usually lasts at least a 1/2 hour or about two miles. There's two speeds for forward and one for reverse. The slow speed goes a little slower than normal walking speed and the fast speed goes about as fast as a slow jogging speed. I like that there's a screw to lock out the faster speed for younger kids (late 2 early 3?). I think this Jeep is good for kids between late 2 - 5 our 6ish? My son just turned 4 and I think he's perfect size for it (of course I do). See the attached video. We've already been riding it for about a half hour at that point. It was on the fast speed and going about normal walking speed. The battery does slowly drain so it does give you a heads-up that its starting to run low on battery. I don't know exactly how long it takes to fully charge it but it's at least a few hours. You do need to assemble the Jeep but if you're good with directions, it's pretty straight forward. It took at least an hour to set up.
Don't leave your youngest behind, let your toddlers have time on the road with one of many riding toys from Academy Sports + Outdoors designed for tiny tots. Smaller and slower in design, our riding toys for toddlers allow your littlest ones to drive along in vehicles featuring their favorite characters, such as Lightning McQueen from Cars, Anna and Elsa from Frozen and Disney Princesses. Made from durable plastic, our toddler ride-on toys can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use and are made to keep your mini roadster safe. With reliable wheels, these riding toys offer great traction on multiple surfaces, allowing them to drive through dirt, on pavement and even grass, providing a fun toy that can be used almost anywhere. Keep the outdoor fun going with bouncy trampolines or roll down the street with a pair of in-line skates and roller skates.
Safety –the tires on these kids ride-on toys might not be pumped up to 2 bars with air, but you can teach your tot how to feel the tires for hardness (acting this out is a great start for later life skills), check the headlights and tail lights to see that they aren’t broken, and things like this. If the car has space for two you can also teach them that driving more carefully when you have a passenger is a good idea, and encourage your kids to pay more attention to how their passenger is reacting to their driving.
