The kid’s vehicle should also be able to smoothly simulate the driving experience of the grown-up vehicles. Another important feature to look out for when you are buying one of these is the how they are run. These vehicles are generally powered by electric batteries and as a result, the issue of battery life comes into play. The size of the motor as well as the strength will have a direct impact on the speed at which your tot will be able to control the motorized vehicle for kids. Size is generally an indicator of the battery life for the electric cars for kids. Batteries with higher voltage can support higher speeds.

The tractors offers two speeds: 2-1/4 and 4-1/2 miles per hour speeds. They also offer a reverse functionality as well as automatic brakes. The tractors have a 4WD which will simplify the driving experience for baby along various kinds of uneven surfaces including the lawns in the compound. As a protection feature, it gives parents the capability to control speeds thanks to a second gear lockout feature.

This looks just like the real thing, only in a smaller model. Children can pretend to be law enforcers providing justice throughout the neighborhood on their own little motorcycle. Kids must balance themselves on this little motorcycle well to ride it, especially at the maximum speeds it is capable of going. Forwards, it can move at two speeds of 2.5 miles per hour or 5.0 miles per hour. That is pretty fast for a toddler’s ride. It can also go in reverse up to 2.5 miles per hour. More practice will be needed for this type of vehicle than the others we feature on this page because it does not have four wheels to support the child. It has just three wheels making it more prone to tipping over possibly. The hazard and signal lights make this so cute, plus the siren sounds ad headlights are neat too. It also has side view mirrors, back storage in the seat compartment, hand accelerator, and authentic-looking chrome detail. If your child loves pretending to be a policeman or policewoman, then this is just the perfect gift for them.
No need to worry if your young driver pushes their new car to the limit as the Power Wheels Dune Racer offers a sturdy steel frame that will support a weight of 130 pounds. The pair of metal sidebars provide stable hand support, while it is smooth rounded edges to protect from cuts and scratches as your child navigates your garden, sidewalk or driveway’s bumps, ruts and even garden hoses.

We had to consider the developmental appropriateness of the electric vehicle especially when taken in the light of the recommended age. We also had to look at safety and stability issues especially the battery charging mechanisms. We then looked at what other consumers are saying about the products so we are sure these are the very same toys you would give to someone you love. Then, we had to look at the company’s credibility and whether it is observing good manufacturing practices or not.

Driving Skills – After the excitement of driving anywhere and everywhere has worn off a bit, you can change the play time up a bit and teach the kids some real driving skills. If you take them to a big parking lot, you can set up a course of cones for them to roll along, and teach your kids how to check their toy for damage, when to stop the toy at a stop-sign, how to park the toy, how to go around a circle, and more. This will introduce the more difficult parts of driving that they will have to deal with later on for their real-life driving test one day. They might protest at first, but if you treat it as a challenge with a reward at the end like an ice-cream or a packet of chips you can be sure they’ll be into it almost at once.
The bikes deliver maximum power transfer thanks to their pneumatic knobby tires along with the quiet and variable speeds. The front wheels are 16 while the rear wheels are 14. This motor cross bike is also fairly easy to assemble and comes with the tools included. With a single charge, riders will be able to cruise at speeds of up 10 miles. This is the perfect bike for your teenager. Alternatively, if they are looking for something a bit more advanced, take a look at our latest reviews of the top self balancing hoverboards here.
Power Wheels Desert Drifters are the Power Wheels you coveted as a child, but all done up Mad Max-style - complete with spikes, spears, and other automatic weapons (of the foam dart variety). Your kids can pretend to be rogue gangs, by-the-book or disillusioned MFP officers, or just regular folks trying desperately to survive in a dystopian version of the future Land Down Under. These Power Wheels Desert Drifters have a top forward speed of 7.5 mph and can take quite a lot of hits (and driving) before needing a battery recharge. That's right, with Power Wheels Desert Drifters, your kids won't be fighting over gasoline - they'll be fighting over the extension cord. Just make sure they understand who runs Bartertown. YOU run Bartertown!

Safety –the tires on these kids ride-on toys might not be pumped up to 2 bars with air, but you can teach your tot how to feel the tires for hardness (acting this out is a great start for later life skills), check the headlights and tail lights to see that they aren’t broken, and things like this. If the car has space for two you can also teach them that driving more carefully when you have a passenger is a good idea, and encourage your kids to pay more attention to how their passenger is reacting to their driving.

With reliable wheels, these riding toys offer great traction on multiple surfaces, allowing them to drive through dirt, on pavement and even grass, providing a fun toy that can be used almost anywhere. Keep the outdoor fun going with bouncy trampolines or roll down the street with a pair of in-line skates and roller skates.
I bought this for my 18 months old son who wears 3T (He is a big boy). He loves it. It took a few minutes for him to learn how to pedal, but after a few tries, he was able to drive the jeep in the yard. He is still too young to use the steering wheel (doesn't know how to turn right/left), but he loves it. I can see him driving this for the next 2-3 years. On top of that, the price is great. Love this!

As a whole package we might well be repeating ourselves, but almost every part of this car inspires awe. We love the fact that it has safe over-sized wheels, that your child can carry their own set of keys to start it up, and that yet again, the optional parental control will put your mind at ease. BMW fans will not be able to resist this electric car for kids model!
A great and awesome "toy" to have for my daughter! My daughter is like a celebrity riding this at the mall! My only problem is that 2nd gear speed is quite dangerously speedy! My little one will be hitting her head to the steering wheel and dangerously stop like she gonna break her neck (and might get a whiplash or something) because it abruptly stops! They should have made this to change slowly like from slow-medium-going fast if use the 2nd gear selection.... Other than that its a cool thing but be careful using this! I also love the fact that it is remote controlled and/or can be manually driven by my daughter when she is old enough. It may be a little pricey but I tell you, it pays off in the long run. This is something that my daughter can use until her pre-teen! I would definitely recommend this as a birthday girt to my friend's little girls! They will have a blast!

When we received our driver’s license, it was the most joyous moment in our lives. It signalled our abilities and our sense of independence. The same is true with children as they drive their electric ATVs, supercars, jeeps, and trucks around the neighborhood or in the park. This helps build their sense of independence which can help boost their self-confidence. This then translates into better self-esteem. The kid’s sense of self-worth is thus, enhanced giving rise to the formation of a healthier self-concept.

* WHEELS ... Are hard plastic, they slip easily. No worse than any other model, but it basically doesn't work at all in our yard, too many slopes. The ideal surface for this is flat astroturf, but it works well on a flat parking lot. It slips on our wood deck (no traction). It also slips on even slightly damp grass, on uneven grass or tall grass, and uphill.
